Professor Michael D. Olsen will be remembered

Olsen
Professor Michael D. Olsen died March 20 in Blacksburg after a long battle with cancer.

A dedicated teacher, he introduced hundreds of IMHI students to the principles of strategic management and finance in the hospitality industry. Professor Olsen was a demanding teacher and mentor who refused to accept mediocre work. For some of you  his classes were the most challenging experience at IMHI.

"Dr. Olsen has been more than a mentor to me and to many others. He has changed my life in expanding my intellectual, personal and professional horizons. His quest for excellence will continue to be an inspiration for many of his students. He will be remembered as a true boundary spanner, and as a friend." states Professor Nicolas Graf, Ph.D, who has taken over Professor Olsen's classes at the Essec MBA in Hospitality Management (IMHI).

He will be remembered.
